Contractor insurance that gets you on the job.

General liability certificates, workers' comp, commercial auto — for small-business contractors in Arkansas and Minnesota. This is the line we write most.

What we cover

  • General liability — the policy your GC or permit office asks for. Certificates issued fast when you're already our client.
  • Workers' compensation — required for most employers in Minnesota and for many in Arkansas. We'll tell you straight whether you need it.
  • Commercial auto — work trucks, vans, and trailers.
  • Tools & equipment (inland marine) — what's in the truck and on the site.
  • Builders risk — new construction and remodel projects.
  • Umbrella — extra liability when a contract demands higher limits.

Trades we work with

Remodelers, handymen, painters, flooring, drywall, carpentry, landscaping, cleaning services, and most other small-business trades. New ventures welcome — first-year contractors are a big part of our book.

Why an independent agent

One application, several carriers. Contractor markets price the same trade very differently — the only way to know is to shop it. We do that, then give you the number and what it covers. No runaround.

Contractor questions we hear every week

The GC wants a certificate of insurance today. How fast can you move?

If you're already our client, certificates usually go out the same day you ask. If you're not insured yet, a straightforward trade can often be quoted and bound within a day or two — then the certificate follows immediately.

I'm a one-man operation. Do I really need general liability?

If you work on other people's property, yes. One dropped ladder through a window, one water line hit — that's what the policy is for. And most GCs and commercial jobs won't let you on site without proof of coverage.

Do I need workers' comp if I only use subs?

It depends on the state and how your subs are insured. Uninsured subs can be counted as your payroll at audit time. Tell us how your crew is set up and we'll give you a straight answer for Arkansas or Minnesota.

What drives the price of contractor GL?

Trade, payroll or revenue, state, claims history, and the limits the job requires. Riskier trades pay more. The way to keep the number honest is to shop several carriers — which is what we do.
